Title: Geometric Group Theory without Geometry

Abstract: Over the last several years, ideas from geometric topology have

led to new developments in combinatorial group theory. We discuss the

extent to which the relevant geometric conditions are equivalent to or

can be approximated by conditions on the logical complexity of

associated sets of words over various alphabets.
